Stunning by Sandi Smith

Hi Everyone...Sandi back with you again to share a couple projects using beautiful Scrapmatts Chipboard.
My niece just graduated from High School and I was lucky enough to capture some pictures of this beautiful young lady!
Stunning

I just love the brand new String circles!! I gave it a coat of gesso and a rough coat of orange paint.
I cut the CB2022 Leaf Spray in sections and tucked in my flower cluster, leaving some in their white mist finish and adding color to others.
Here are a few closeups...

Shadow Box Frenzy

Hello All,

What a month it has been.....I was lucky enough to go to Brisbane and attend the Scrapbook & Paper Craft Expo earlier this month. It was fabulous to catch up with
fellow DT members and meet lots of other scrappers.

I am sure that you have already noticed that  we have been having lots of fun playing with the  new Shadow Boxes here at Scrapmatts.

"Forever"

I love how you can create so much dimension using the shadow boxes, and they are very simple to put together.  To create this project I have used not only the Scrapmatts Shadow Boxes but the following other chipboard goodies; CB1203 Birdbaths, CB1016 Bird Cages 01,  CB1177 Layered Bridges ,CB6051 Trees ,   CB1134 Assorted Words . and CB1188 Birds .

Adding this bridge to the outside of the shadow box added more dimension to my project.

My Second project for the month is a layout that I have created using a frame that Andrew had created for the Brisbane Expo.

 " Precious"

I just adore the new arrows with words, CB6095 Assorted Words .

The CB1109 Heart Spray, embossed in white adds to the flower cluster.

I have heat embossed the ornate frame CB6090 Ornate Frames, with white embossing powder then cut up into pieces to layer and add more dimension to my layout.

No layout is ever complete without adding a few little scrapwords. I have used a selection from CB1189 Scrapwords , CB1199 Scrapwords .

Make sure you pop over and have a look at the new chipboard in store that was released at the Brisbane Expo!

Take Care
Tracey

The Importance of Family - Lauren Tomecek

Welcome back for some more chipboard goodness!

My first layout for today is a double featuring family photos from my wedding back in 2011. The large rose piece is so delicate and beautiful, I fell in love with it as the Expo last November when it was released but was saving it for a special occasion. I have simply painted it with acrylics and let it shine as a feature. I used up the last of my Flags in the title, and squeezed in some flowers which I heat embossed silver to match the colour scheme.

Scrapmatts used: CB2023 Roses 01; CB5101 Flags 02; CB1145 Flowers 09

Project number two is a single page layout of my parent-in-laws' puppy, Josh. The picket fence is such a cute design but I had never found a use for it on any of my layouts previously. The title comes from an assorted set which seems to be more targeted towards little boys but I thought it suited Josh perfectly.

You can see in the close up I left the fence raw to tie in with the natural feel I was going for. The title is painted with acrylic paint and then covered with crackle medium. The Scrap Word in the corner just has stamping ink whipped over the top to let the recessed black words still show through.

Scrapmatts used: CB1198 Scrap Words 06; CB2026 Picket Fences 09; CB4055 Assorted Words 09.

Melts My Heart

Hello all, Kim here....popping in to show you a few of my recent creations!

Firstly I would like to show you a shadow box I have created

I have run the top and bottom matts through the
cuttlebug with my favourite embossing folder.
I painted the Federation Interior arch & the Beautiful filigree wrap
in gesso ( 2-3 coats)
Once dry I just swiped a little Patina blue glimmermist here and there.
(Just to boy it up a bit!!!)
Then added the half pearls and his name, using the Scrapwords.

I plan to do one of these for each of my Grandchildren.

Next up I have a layout I created of my
 Hugo
during his first visit to the beach back in 2009

 {My Sweet Prince}
I just lightly inked the starfish with some ink and smeared the
shell and bird with a touch of gesso

Lastly I want to share this layout
(I have already posted this in the Scrapmatts gallery)

{First Autumn}

I've coloured the leaves with a combination of glimmermists
then once dry I have run some of them through the cuttlebug using
two different embossing folders....
Love the mix of textures!

Thank you for stopping

Shadow Box creations

Hello everyone, Crece here with you today to share a few things I have created since my last post.
Todays post features a couple of the Shadow boxes I created for the Scrapmatts stand for the Scrapbook Expo in Brisbane - I was also lucky enough to help the team out over the weekend on the stand. I got to meet so many wonderful people.

Shadow Box Calendar

I thought it would be an awesome idea to turn this shadow box into a calendar. It was pretty easy to do, by attaching wire to the frame i was able to use tiny pegs to attach the printed calendar (which can also be updated every year)

now for the close ups...

I used paper to cover the front of the shadow box.

i heat embossed these cogs with Ultra thick embossing powder in the colours, gold, platinum and bronze.
I also added one of the clock charms from scrapmatts.

I used these products to create this shadow box...

Baby Keepsake Box

When i saw the design of this shadow box I knew exactly what i wanted to do with it...create a keepsake of my first born, Andrew.

I was able to place one of his socks, along with the birth announcement and one of his hospital bracelets.

some more close ups...

The chipboard pram worked really well on this baby themed shadow box.

The flags work well to create the banner of his name, I painetd them in a co-coordinating colour blue so it went together.

I used...

James Dean Shadow Box

This shadow box was created to show that it doesnt have to be a photo of someone you know, but can be themed around your favourite star.
The camera on the left comes from one of the new push out papertole sheets that are on the online store.

These shadow box frames are great to stamp on, using black ink and the diamond shaped stamp I was able to get this effect.

Washi tape fits perfectly around the border of the Scrapmatts shadow box frames too!

Items used to create this shadow box...

Dont forget to check out the rest of the Design teams work over in the Gallery.

Enjoy the rest of your week

Cards, Double and a Mini Album

Hello

The middle of the year is upon us.. almost the end of the financial year in fact. Wow, that snuck up quick. Things have been insanely busy for me and I've even decided to add something new to the mix... I'm returning to Uni to study teaching in July. It will all be online though so not so hectic hopefully!

I figured what other career would allow a little bit of craftiness in between the business stuff... excited!! lol

But enough about me... here are a few projects featuring some fabulous chipboard of course.

This layout is a double created with a traditional scrapbooking page, combined with a pocket scrapbooking plastic sleeve. I actually didn't have a plastic sleeve design to suit the idea I had in mind so I sewed together two 6x12 sleeves and stitched up pockets as I wanted. Not perfect, but pretty easy to create your own design. The traditional style page is on the left and the pocket page on the right.

And a mini album. This one was a good effort. It took me about 2 hours from start to finish, so I am pretty impressed with that. I decided to make a mini album of mine and my husband's relationship as a gift for our upcoming anniversary. Love, engagement, marriage and baby. Our story so far!

Created using a Kaisercraft tag wood album and the mini pad and collectables from the Limelight collection. Other materials were Scrapmatts chipboard, lace, flowers, dymo labeller, AC Thickers.

Here are a couple of the pages up close:

I just realised I was meant to give this mini album to my hubby for our 'dating' anniversary in May. Oops! He was absent for half the day and not particularly romantic so I guess I'll save it for another occasion haha

Enjoy the rest of your week.
