A few projects

Hi there! I'd like to share some works made with Scrapmatts chippies. First I'd like to show you a mixed media canvas with a gorgeous chipboard star. I did lots of painting, inking and stamping and it was really fun.

I used CB1180 Snowflakes 03 and CB5119 Hanging Stars 02

I also want to share this christmas card. I loved that frame since the first time I saw it, so I decided to use it as focal point with the image.

I used CB6092 Ornate Frame 20 and CB1225 Pine Sprig 01

Fall Means Back to School!!

Hi everyone...Sandi back with you to share some more projects using some gorgeous Scrapmatts Goodies.
Fall always comes to mind whenever I think about "Back to School" and I just love the beautiful colors of Autumn. So I decided to put those colors to good use on an altered clipboard and added a little inspirational quote to get the kids back into the study mode!
Here are a few closeups...

I finished it off with a hemp bow, an old paintbrush, a little gesso and a few splatters of mist!
The twigs you see in my flower cluster are the CB5056 Twigs 02 from Scrapmatts.
I seem to use those on every project!!

Next up is a layout of my sweet girl and her first day of school last year. It will only be a couple of weeks and I will be taking another of those photos....time goes so fast!
Grade 9

I left all the chipboard in there original White Mist finish except for the frame which I gave a light coat of gesso.
Here are a few closeups...

I once again left the chippies in the White mist finish because I just LOVE this look!
I cut the rose flourish in pieces and tucked in amongst the flower cluster.

Gift of Giving

Hi Everyone, Tracey here with you today. I just adore spending time with my nieces and nephews. They give me so much pleasure listening to all their stories, playing with them and getting to know all about them.

I wanted to show my two twin nieces how much I adore them and love spending time with them, so I created a layout each that I framed and gave to them as a gift.

"Beautiful"

I have inked CB5057 Floral Design 03 with a antique white ink pad, and added some pearls.

I also used the very cute and adorable CB1188 Birds 06 amongst the flower cluster.

"Adore"

For this layout I used the CB4060 Ornate Frames 17 which I have heat embossed using a white embossing powder. I used a white ink pad to colour the  CB1028 Butterflies 18 and kept the CB1203 Birdbaths 03 natural.

I used CB6085 Alphabet Flags 04 for the title and CB1189 Scrapwords 01 .

I hope that one day the girls will look back at these layouts and know how much their Aunty Tracey loves and adores them both.

Cards, Cards, Cards

Hey there everyone,

It seems I have been in a bit of a card making frenzy this past month with cards for lots of occasions. There is no better embellishment for a card than scrapmatts... especially all the super cute words that make cards so quick and easy.

As this post goes live, it will be my final day of work after more than 7 years there. A surreal experience and no doubt there will be tears, because as much as I need to get myself out of the comfort zone and move on to my new path, it is tough making such a big change. But with any luck, the very personal and hopefully motivating messages I have written in the cards for my 7 staff members will mean at least a couple of other people get a bit emotional too hehe

I put these cards together in about an hour or so using just a few pages from a 6x6 paperpad, some blank cards and of course some scrapmatts. Very simple.

And a couple up close below:

Then there is my cousin's wedding card. The wedding is not until next month but I am pretty sure she is way too busy doing wedding stuff to be spending time looking at what I'm creating (oh and she's a teacher and has no free time anyway... ) hehe How cool are the Scrapmatts charms?

Then that brings us to another occasion worthy of celebrating... Christmas. It is approaching with extreme speed it seems, so now is not a bad time to start making your Christmas cards nice and early.

As a bit of a time saver, I like to use up my scraps sometimes after a layout so they don't go to waste, plus by making a card after every layout, it means having a few in the stash for last minute occasions that need one. Certainly better than the last minute rush of trying to create a card from scratch when you are time poor. And I am going to be very time poor for the next 7 weeks.

Do you have some all occasion cards ready to go?
