Layout and two cards

Hi there!! I'd like to show you a few works I've recently made with Scrapmatts chipboards, hope you like them!

First I made this masculine layout with the amazing gears, aren't they cute?

I used: CB5039 Gears 06, CB1107 Clocks 08, CB6095 Assorted Words 18, CB1221 Nautical Designs 04

I also made two cards: a mixed media one, in which I used the gorgeous bridge CB1177 Layered Bridges 02

And a soft and romantic one, featuring frame CB6090 Ornate Frames 18

Happy Times with Tracey Fowler

Hi Everyone,

I have had such a fabulous few weeks of scrapping! Over the Easter break I managed to squeeze in some "scrap therapy" which is just what I needed.

I have created two layouts that I want to share with you using some fabulous
chipboard from Scrapmatts.

The first layout I have created is one of my Dad.
I don't often get the chance to take many photos of my Dad, for many different reasons, so when we were at a family gathering and I happened to be playing around taking shots of the kids, I managed to get this fabulous photo of my Dad. My Dad is very special to me, and this photo is just a perfect picture of him.

"Happy Times"

I have used the fabulous chains, in there natural state of white mist  (CB5132) and cut them to work around my layout   and have heat embossed the straight chains in antique silver (CB1229) . I am sure you all know...no layout or project is complete with out Scrapmatts Scrapwords (CB1200, CB1199)

My Second Layout I have to share with you is a little different for me as I used some metallic gold texture paste on the background ( I have to admit, I actually was thrilled with the effect).

"I Treasure You"

I have used the stunning angel wings CB1120, Scrap words and the cute little arrows CB6095.

Also I'm very excited to be teaching at Scrapbook Expo in Brisbane  for the first time in June!
I will be lucky enough to be teaching along side the gorgeous  and very talented Crece Thomas and Sonia Thomason. You will find us in the Scrapmatts Classroom 3. The bookings  are now open  and you can see all the details and check out the sneak peeks and class descriptions here

Blue Dreamcatcher by Lauren Tomecek

I had so much fun making my last dreamcatcher that I had been thinking of making another one for a couple of months now. I finally sat down to do it this month and found that my fellow Scrapmatts DT member Crece had also created a dreamcatcher for her project this month! They must just be the in thing at the moment. Still, you can never have too much of a good thing so I continued with mine and came up with something completely different to hers.

As soon as I saw these feathers (CB5116 Feathers 01 and CB1222 Feathers 02) I knew they would be perfect for a dreamcatcher. I put some clear embossing ink on the edges and then dusted it off up the length of the feather to get that gradient effect. The little feathers have the same treatment, but were embossed with blue powder before the gold was applied over the top. The 'dream' chipboard word (from CB1200 Scrapwords 08) is just straight embossed with gold, I love the way the etched in word stays clear when you do this. The flourish is a left over piece I had from doing a Scrapmatts class at an expo (but you can get it from CB4066 Ornate Frames 23). I painted it white with acrylic paint then put some crackle medium over the top for texture and shine. The chipboard is flexible enough to bend to match the shape of the hoop while still being strong enough to not rip or break.

If you create a dreamcatcher with Scrapmatts chipboard we would love to see it over in our gallery!

Dream Catcher

Hello everyone, Crece here with you today to share a project I finished recently.

You & Me makes me Happy – Dream Catcher

I started creating a layout but after sitting there looking at it, I wasn’t happy…so I decided to turn it into a dream catcher.
I used CB8001 Circles 01 as the base and wrapped it with some silky material I had in my basket.
I then started to entwine the peach coloured thread to make the ‘web’ of the dream catcher.
I liked the cluster I created on my original layout and rearranged it to fit on the base of the dream catcher.

I used inka gold to colour the cupid, and hearts and ink to colour the circle.

I really like the Scrapmatts chipboard feathers CB1222 Feathers 02 so I used a couple and inked them and gently brushed some more inka gold along the edges.
I added ribbons to co-ordinate and complete the project.

Thanks for stopping by to have a look, don’t forget you can always see some more inspiration from the other Design Team members on the Scrapmatts Gallery.

A bit of vintage playing...

I was fortunate enough to be given some amazing photos of my husband's Grandparents. Not only has it allowed me to have fun playing but our girls have been fascinated by the stories they have been told about their lives. I decided to make two canvases, one of Pa and one of Nanna and the new releases from Scrapmatts certainly provided a heap of inspiration!
I just love how serene Nanna looks in this photo and worked with lots of girly pink tones as my base:
Using Scrapmatts chipboard Chains 02 CB1229, Diamond Mesh 03 CB5127, Tabs 01 CB5117 and Scrap Words 06 CB1198 and Scrap Words 07 CB1199 along with Scrapmatts Charms Filigree Flower 14 CH074, Filigree Flower 16 CH076 and Keys 03 CH064

How gorgeous are the new Mesh Panels and Chains?

Next I worked on Pa's canvas using blue and green tones:
Using Scrapmatts chipboard Diamond Mesh 03 CB5127, Chains CB1229, Gears 05 CB1078 and Scrap Words 05 CB1197 and Scrap Words 07 CB1199 along with  Scrapmatts Charms Filigree Flower 16 CH076 and Filigree Flower 9 CH069 (I just used the inside part of the flower)
The chipboard works perfectly with your existing stash of metal embellishments especially if you use a metallic heat embossed finish. Here I used a vintage bronze embossing powder on the chain and added it to my light globe:

The Gears have been finished in the same vintage bronze:

Don't forget to check out all the new releases here
Also I'm very excited to be teaching at Scrapbook Expo in Brisbane in June along side the gorgeous Crece Thomas and Tracey Fowler. You will find us in the Scrapmatts Classroom 3. The bookings open soon but you can check out the sneak peeks and class descriptions here
Happy crafting :)

Getting jungle fever.....

Hi, It is Anne here today to share with you a couple of creations I have made using Scrapmatts.

I received a pack of new African themed designs (CB5133) recently as as most of you do, I thought, well I haven't been to Africa recently.  But then I remembered that last year we went to the Gallery of Modern Art with the Kids and there was this fascinating display of animals round a giant pond and a leaping wolf pack.  PERFECT....  It is amazing how versatile these designs can be.

As you can see i have inked the various animals and plants in brown to go with the design I crated.

I also layered and added more texture using some of the new Mesh (CB5129) designs...

Then I had a tree left over from the pack and so I decided to also whip up a card.  This is also incorporating one of the super cute houses (CB5121).

Hope you like my creations and I am also sharing some other new creations on the Ning site.

Thanks for Looking
