August inspiration with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my August inspirational post.
This month I decided to make an art Steampunk page as my main inspiration and I think that Scrapmatts products are just  perfect for all Steampunk lovers as myself.
So here is the page made over A4 thick cardstock covered with gesso and then painted, stamped, stencilled and embellished with Scrapmatts chipboards and some  hand made embellishments I made with Makin's Clay, molds and Makin's Clay tools.
As you can see I used Scrapmatts Retro Squares stencil with texture paste over the page and then misted it with a mix of Tattered Angels mists.
Stamps used are from Andy Skinner's line of Steampunk stamps and mostly stamped directly over the page (some were stamped over tissue and glued then with Gel Medium).
I also used the second Scrapmatts String Beads  stencil here and you can see the lines in the middle of the page.

A for chipboards the Steampunk frame was added to frame the  funky doll. The head , the hair embellishment and the hair are made with Makin's Clay, but the body is totally Scrapmatts and was made with numerous chipboards that are all listed below.

Here you can see the stencilled part and the same  Retro Squares 02 chipboard added over the stencilled image.
For the final touch I added a layer of Crackle glaze  and some Scrapmatts words.

Scrapmatts products used for this art page:
Gears 03 CB1075
Wings 01 CB1120
Chains 02 CB1229

And now for my second project- a Mixed Media card made with Scrapmatts very same stencil used for the Steampunk page and the very same chipboard, but now painted with another color to fit the card.I used Gelly Plate to make the background and added Scrapmatts chipboard sentiment on the bottom of my card.

And as I still had more mono prints to use, I added a second card.
Same style card was made and the different sentiment was added on the bottom of it.

And now for a simple last card I made using Scrapmatts layered chipboard under the stamped sentiments.
This was almost the only embellishment over this card and added a lot of interest to the simple colors and card layout.

I hope that you liked my project and see you again next month with totally different inspiration.

Two cute cards by Dunja

Hello everyone, it's me, Dunja, i'm finally posting again ... you are enjoying the summer?
Today I'll show you a card I made for my brother. He has moved into his new home. Beside a small gift there was this card in the form of a house. The card is closed with a tax seal.

For the base of the card I've used and white cardstock. For the 'stones' I've used the  Dutch Doobadoo Dutch Mask Art - Bricks and the blending tool with Distress Ink Pumice Stone. The roof I cut from black cardstock and wiped with a white chalk stamp pad. The stamp, which I have used is by Vildastamps Christmas socks with details. Actually a Christmas stamp - but I've only used the socks :)) The sentiment 'The old socks are the same, they now depend only somewhere else' I wrote and printed on the computer.

For the decoration I've used the great chipboard CB6113 Scrap Words 32 and CB1189 Scrapwords 01 by Scrapmatts. To get the word 'is', I cut away from the 'wish' the w and h.

I colored the stamp image with the ZIG - CLEAN COLOR Real Brush Markers.

  ❥  ❥  ❥

Now onto my second card for today. It's a birthday card.

The cute stamp is from Create a Smile 'Es ist serviert'. I colored them with my ZIG Clean Color Real Brush markers. The colors are great and they can dissolve and to paint, with water again. The text on the tag 'To celebrate the day' also comes from the 'It's serviert' set of Create a Smile.

The decoration of the top is made with Marianne Design - Creatables - Tassel fringe. Finally, I have used the Birthday Trible Die from Create a Smile. I've used a piece of STICK IT by Ken Oliver and mounted it on the back of the glitter cardstock . So you can put the text after the die-cutting immediately and has - especially on the film - no marks. The Chipboard Pieces are from Scrapmatts

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you like my cards.Have a beautiful day and see you soon :)

Hugs from Germany

August Layouts With Christine

Hello everyone, I hope you're having a lovely August so far.  Christine here sharing a couple of layouts with lots of Scrapmatts stencils & chipboards.

Let's start with the first layout:

Scrapmatts Stencils: Leaf Sprays (ST5004); Circles (ST5006); Strings (ST1021); Paint Drips (1009)

Scrapmatts Chipboards: Burnt Cream Scrapwords (CB1238); Butterflies (CB1045)

I just love scrapping my daughter’s cheeky photos together…they make creating much more inspirational & fun! The title is from the versatile Burnt Cream Scrap Words set, & the Butterflies chipboards are painted white to suit the page.

I’ve used the beautiful Scrapmatts Leaf Sprays stencil as a resist pattern which really stands out from the vibrant colors.  Of course, I had to add more stenciling on this page.  Did you spot the Circles, Strings, & Paint Drips?

Let's have a look at next layout:

My daughter from when she started sleeping in her cot, wouldn’t sleep without her teddy bear.  I say thank goodness for the teddy bear, she sleeps well most nights.  Now that she’s nearly 6, she still has it in her bedroom.

Scrapmatts Chipboards: Ornate Frame (CB6011); Hearts Frame (CB4005); Butterflies (CB1045); Stars String Circles (CB5138); Black Scrap Words (CB1237)

Scrapmatts Stencils: Cobblestones (ST5014); Circles (ST5006)

I’ve embossed the frame white, & I love how it frames her sweet picture.  They look so peaceful & heavenly when they’re asleep, quiet & behaved like that, eh? :)  I’ve inked the butterflies & stars chipboards white to match the white shades of the frame & the layout.  I’ve also applied some good ol’ texture paste through Cobblestones Stencil, & some color through the Circles Stencil.

I had fun creating these layouts, playing with awesome Scrapmatts stencils & chipboards.  I can't wait to see what new designs Sofie & Andrew come up with.  Check out the variety of Scrapmatts goodies here.

Thanks for stopping by, & stay tuned for more inspiration from the team :).

Cheers,

Good Morning, how are you all? Hopefully scrapping or creating something, its always a great day when you get to do what you love right?

I recently helped with Scrapmatts at the Arts and Craft Fair that was being held here over in the West, it was a great two days ( it went for 3), seen all and I do mean ALL of the products that the company creates and even getting to play with them with a few demos over the weekend. It really was great catching up with Sofia and Andrew and fellow DT member Rhonda.

To start off for those who came and said hi on Sunday you would have seen me creating an art journal page using a lot of Scrapmatts Stencils of my background and layers..... This is the finished product.....

See told you I used a few stencils........

Now for my second project for the month and as a bonus I have created a little process video for you as well...

Till next time, have a creative day

Mini Baby Album - Inspiration

Good Morning, Fi here today with a few pages from a " 8 mini album I am creating.

The lovely thing about making something like this not only does it use up a lot of scraps
you have floating around, its also an opportunity to use those delicate
Scrapmattts die cuts we have in our stash..

The two pages I will be sharing with you today I have used the Scrapmats Roses CB1202 02.
They work in beautifully with their delicateness, and Rose is also the flower
attached to the babies name Ava!

I love these little engraved sayings and they just pop from the page by simply
using a ink pad to slightly ink the edges of them.  With the Roses I have inked and heat
set embossed, how lovely do they look!

On the Second page I have also used the Roses die cuts and the little word Beautiful
from the Scrapmatts word range.

Here I have attached the link to the pics so you can what I have used and where
you can purchase if you don't already have these lovelies already.  I think its safe
to say if you have ever been to one of the Scrapmatts display shop at a Craft Show you
have not walked away empty handed.
