Inspired by Love - February Projects with Christine

February is the month of hearts which has inspired me to create a couple of projects that's all about love.  First up is my pink mixed media apple:

Scrapmatts chipboards: Ornate Frames (CB4069), Leaf Spray (CB5166), Scrap Words (CB6113)

Scrapmatts stencil: Borders (ST1010)

I've layered the Scrapmatts chipboards amongst the borders stenciled area to one side of the apple, and then layered some pink Tattered Angels paints for gorgeous punches of color.

It's fun layering Scrapmatts chipboards alongside and on top of each other, and then add some touches of Scrapmatts stencils and you're good to go.

On the other hand, sometimes you only need that little or final touch of Scrapmatts chipboard and stencil on some projects.  I'll show you how with my card inspired by the love of horses:

Scrapmatts chipboard: Assorted Words (CB6117)

Scrapmatts stencil: Circles (ST5006)

I simply added a wee bit of Circles stenciling on my card for a simple background.

The gorgeous love chipboard from the Assorted Words set is inked and is the perfect title and addition of chipboard to finish it all off.

Whether you like adding a little or a lot of chipboards and stencils, Scrapmatts will have something to suit you.  Check all the Scrapmatts goodies here.

I hope you enjoyed my February projects.  Thanks for popping in and I'll see you next month for more Scrapmatts creations.

Cheers,

February Inspiration with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my  February  Scrapmatts inspiration.
So this is a page I made for myself, by myself and with myself (you can see it for sure).
I scrapped my vacation memories as here in Israel Lilac bushes are not common (non existing ones).

So as I was born in a former USSR and was raised around lilac flowers every time I see one abroad I just take some photos near them. Just to remember the smell and the happiness of my early childhood.
I used Scrapberry's cardstock and small embellishments to make this page, but I used big and a lot of Scrapmatts chipboards to add texture, color and interest to this page.
All chipboards were heat embossed with black or mixed embossing powder and I used the same powder over some of cardstock die cut pieces to make it similar.
As you can see I used the chain circle around my own photo and I used the same powder to heat embossed the leaves near the metal  pebble.
I made the mixed title using #unique word and added the banners of " me" to make one title.
Some embellishments were added over the gate part and on the lower corner and I added the words ' memories" as my sub- title.
The last, but not least- the oval frame that framed the upper stamped saying.
All other embellishments are just small add- ons of flowers, hand cut pieces and small metal charms.
And yes, life is good  when you can travel and still remember your childhood as it was just a few days ago .
I wish. Not really a few days, but a like a whole 50 years back.
It still makes me Happy!

My second (and third) projects for Scrapmatts blog are those Steampunk card and tag.
Yes, I love Steampunk. Not as a way of life, but sure as a crafter.
So when I see pretty masculine cardstock  and add gorgeous Scrapmatts chipboard and stencils, I get this fancy masculine friendship card first.
I used the  Steamapunk  Arch window frame and a big gear piece - both were heat embossed with copper powder. The gear was cut into two parts and added from both sides of the card.
I used Gears stencil with distress ink to cover the inside of the window.
The lamp was added in the middle to give the light of gold to this friendship card.
And yes, to make it a real Steampunk I added a few real metal pieces that fit the chipboards in the most perfect way.

My last project for Scrapmatts is this Steampunk tag.
Same style as the card, but the colors are totally different.
The card was a kind of a warm one.
This tag is a cold grey and blue project.
Some of the chipboards here were heat embossed with blue powder and the background one was left bare.
I added this lovely " naked" Happy Birthday chipboard and  again, a few metal pieces were must to add things to make it a real Steampunk style.
I think that I am in love with those Scrapmatts Steampunk chipboards!
They make my masculine crafting possible!

Hello from ME

Good Morning!!!
I'm super excited to be sharing my first post with you all.
Its been so much fun playing with these gorgeous chippies and I must
say the Stencils are awesome too......

Creating with these goodies was so easy to do!
They fit perfectly with my photos and perfectly with my projects..

My first official share with you is my Canvas created for the Scrapmatts Team
board at the show.
Its full of colour, chipboard and stencils.....

My first step was to adhere a selection of swirls from
CB4069 Ornate Frames 26
to the canvas and coated with a thin layer of Gesso.

Using Texture paste I added some circles with
ST9003-A5
Butterfly Sprinkles with
ST1028
Now comes the fun part adding lots of colour!!!
Allow it to pool and sit along the grooves of your chipboard.
Increase the intensity of the colour by adding more a step at a time and allowing to dry.

Using a selection of the following I embellished my Canvas

CB5165 Lavender 01
CB5166 Leaf Spray 15
CB6117 Assorted Words 30
CB1235 Leaf Spray 14

All the chipboards chosen from the packs where first Inked then finished with
matching embossing powder.
A few selected pieces where coated with Gesso and Stamped with StazOn.

Once the lavender pieces cooled I re inked the flower tops to adjust the colour.

Before adhering all the pieces to my canvas I randomly stamped the canvas.

Now I have a layout to share with you.
It includes my two favourite people which you will get to know well!
These gorgeous little faces are my inspiration!!!
(I'm Bias)

This one was all pleasure!!!
This timeless photo I have scrapped many times over and its still one of my favourites.
When I saw the CB4070 String Circles 06 Roses
I knew straight away exactly what I wanted to do with it.

Using Shimmer Dusts and water I created my background which I then layered with
Stamps and StazOn.
Using the residue on my brush I painted the chipboard which I've used to border my photo.

I layered this around the indentations on the rose to create another layer of depth.
I also used my chalk inks to randomly stamp with a selection of colour to add
to the rustic look.

Using a few pieces left over from CB4069 Ornate Frames26
I stamped them randomly with a selection of colours.
Some I cut along the swirl lines to spread around the page.
As you can see pictured below.

I detached the small roses from the circle to spread slightly wider creating a larger circle
CB6117 Assorted Words 30
CB6106 Assorted Words 24
I Finished off the layout pieces treating them the same way as I did the frame.
Some flowers, Typescript Stickers and a White Gel Pen
finished the layout off.

I hope you enjoyed my little journey.....
I look forward to playing with more chipboard and sharing the fun with you all.
Till next time
Happy Scrapping.....

Times To Remember

Good Morning and Welcome, I'm up on the blog today with some pages I've created for a few challenges.  Its been ages since I've had the chance to play along at any of these.  About this time every year I spend about a week up at my friends in Toowoomba and we try and get as much scrapping done as possible.

We attended the Craft Alive and popped in and said hello to the Scrapmatts Team and of course stocked up on many gorgeous products.  It was great also great to meet new people as well as catch up with other.

My first page was created for White With One

I have inked the Scrapmatts Heather chippies with some white ink, after all it is white with one.

The Second Challenge I played along with was Kraft Plus

Where ever we go my daughter and I have to find the best Gelato, no matter the weather!!!

Again I have inked the Leaf Sprays just to give them a subtle softness with the my choice of colour.

Products used:
